VFW rocked…

I know my entries must sound repetitive (and truthfully they are) but we had another great gig last night- this time at the Downingtown VFW. As has been the case forever it seems we had dancers from the first song through the last. The main dance floor couldn't hold everyone so we had folks showing their stuff on the "secondary" dance floor which was any space they could find. And those not on the floor dancing were rocking in their seats. We have fun watching everyone having fun. The band is humbled to know that we can provide an opportunity to get away for a few hours from the daily stresses that we all deal with.

Gregg Malack did another great job fronting the band and we are grateful he's been able to help us out while Jammin' James continues his recovery.

We're at it again this coming Friday, December 1st, at Crafty's in Warminster. Music starts at 9pm. Hope to see you all. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. Oh yeah...and keep on rockin'.

Stellar night at Hotel Fiesole…

What a night at Hotel Fiesole. That place has such a cool vibe and when you add an enthusiastic crowd and kick ass classic rock tunes the energy is off the charts. That describes our gig there last night. The dance floor was packed from the first song through our encore. (Yes, the crowd implored us to play "one more song" so we lived up to our name once again.) We had a birthday celebration too and we saw a lot of familiar faces from our previous Fiesole gigs as well as our usual loyal followers. We appreciate the support from all of you faithful fans as well as those of you who experienced us for the first time. We expect that we'll be returning to Hotel Fiesole in 2024, hopefully multiple times. When we get some dates we'll let you all know.

Thanks to Tyler and Matt for working their butts off behind the bar. They helped fuel the good times.

Next week we return to the Downingtown VFW. Another fun place with great people. We're psyched.

Jenna’s Blessing Bags…

An awesome night supporting Jenna's Blessing Bag's Foundation which strives to improve the current and future quality of life of the homeless population. We celebrated the selfless efforts of Jenna Burleigh, who initiated this project and whose life was tragically cut short six years ago. Her family and friends have continued her work and the gathering tonight raised a significant amount of money thanks to the generosity of numerous friends and supporters. Many people, including homeless veterans, will benefit from the event tonight. Breaking Curfew was honored to be a part of it. Thanks to all those who came out tonight.

Thanks to Mike Mullen and Tim Viall for so ably filling in for our Jammin' James. Fun night.

Next Saturday, November 18th, we rock out Hotel Fiesole, 7 to 11pm.

An update…

Breaking Curfew family- Just wanted to let you all know that Jammin' James, our friend and frontman/lead singer/rhythm guitarist, has been dealing with a medical issue that just recently came to light. He's progressing well and we expect him back stronger than ever in the coming future. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

We have a busy schedule ahead of us and it is important that we as a band fulfill our obligations to those venues and to you. To that end we have been fortunate enough to enlist the talents of a good friend of the band, Gregg Malack, to fill in for James (with the exception of our November 11th gig) until he is able to return. We will continue to rock out everyone's favorite classic rock party/dance tunes.

We have a private event coming up; our next public gig is November 11th, a fundraiser: Jenna's Blessing Bags (see our post below.) We hope to see you all then.

In the meantime take care of yourselves and those you love...and keep on rockin.'

Great night at Tom’s…

Great night at Tom's this past Friday. The place was packed- inside and ouside under their tent with the big screen tv and firepits.. Everyone there got a twofer- the first part of the night we were all enjoying watching Spring Ford football team crush Perkiomen Valley. It was louder than an Eagles game. When the game ended we took over and continued the party by jamming some of our favorite classic rock tunes for the next three plus hours, until well past midnight. There were calls for more but we had to stop.

Tom's is an awesome venue- great people, great food and drink, and always a party atmosphere.

Thanks to Anthony for inviting us to play and thanks to Andrew as well for taking good care of us all night. The whole Tom's crew worked their butts off all night and we greatly appreciate that.

Next up is The Dutch, Saturday October 14th, from 8pm to 11 30pm. Hope to see you there. In the meantime keep on rockin'.

Awesome night at VFW…

Great night at Downingtown VFW. It was great to return and there was a large welcoming and appreciative crowd that was ready to party- and party we all did. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone was digging the tunes. It's a blast for all of us when everyone is into the music. We want to thank the VFW for inviting us to play and we want to thank all those folks who came out and hung in there until the end of the night.

We return to the VFW on November 25. Mark your calendars. In the meantime stay safe and healthy and keep on rockin'.

Cabana Bar canceled…

Major bummer but no surprise our gig at Cabana Bar was canceled last night. A tropical storm does not provide the best conditions for an outdoor gig. We were so disappointed as this was going to be our summer "finale" there and we had planned a blow out party with a bunch of surprises. Oh well...we want to thank Cabana Bar for their support all summer and to all of you who came out and partied there with us. We be back there next summer...

In the meantime we still have plenty of gigs scheduled the rest of the year so there are still plenty of chances to party with us. Check our Schedule page for upcoming dates.

The Trum Tavern never disappoints…

We're never quite sure exactly what interesting things will happen at a Trum Tavern gig but we always have a great time there. Last night was no exception. As usual we were thrilled to see some of our most loyal fans. The rest of the crowd was very receptive to the classic rock tunes we jammed. We focused a little more on some of our "heavier" stuff and it all went over well.

The Trum was one of the first venues we booked over five years ago when we were just starting out and they (Steven Lewis in particular) have been loyal supporters ever since. We are so grateful. We're looking to schedule some dates for 2024.

Next up for us is our last gig for this summer at Cabana Bar. We have a weekend off and return there on September 23rd at 7pm.

Blast at Cabana Bar…

Another fun night at Cabana Bar. The weather gods were with us again as it was a beautiful night with clear skies, cool temperatures, and a slight breeze- as close to perfect as you can get for late August. And of course we had sooo many friends and fans there who rocked along with us as we jammed some great classic rock tunes. It's always a blast at Cabana Bar; that's why so many folks come to our gigs there. We have one more next month - September 23rd - and we're looking forward to returning.

Before that though we have a gig at the Trum Tavern- another of our favorite venues- on September 9th. That's always a raucous night.

We hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day weekend. Be safe and stay healthy. Until we see you again, keep on rockin'.

FUN night at Marchwood…

An awesome night at Marchwood Tavern. We always have a good crowd there- and I don't mean just the size but the energy as well- and last night was probably the best we've ever had there. Such enthusiasm all night long whether it was people singing along with every song, dancing in their seats and/or on the dance floor, and even group hug/dances (like a mosh pit with hugging instead of pummeling). And it started from the very first note. Well, maybe that's exaggerating a bit but it was from the first song and lasted all night.

As usual we played past curfew as the crowd wanted more and we obliged with two encores. We had to call it a night then so the Marchwood crew could finish their night and go home.

We had so much fun ourselves and we owe it to our good friends and fans who were there as well as those who were "newbies" to Breaking Curfew. We feed off the positive vibes.

Next up is a return to Cabana Bar on Saturday August 26th. (Hey that's next Saturday!) We keep jammin' almost every week. Hope to see you there. In the meantime be safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and others.

Rocked the Hotel…

At Hotel Fiesole this past Saturday night we did what we do- rock the house. And the crowd loved every second. So many singing along and we had dancers- including some very energetic ones- most of the night. As always a lot of familiar faces but some new ones as well who found out what Breaking Curfew is all about. We love playing at the Hotel- such a great space for live music. We're back on November 18th so mark that date on your calendar.

Thanks to Jay for inviting us to play and Cooper for manning the bar all night and keeping everyone's thirst quenched.

We keep on rockin' and this Saturday, August 19th, it's at Marchwood Tavern in Exton. That party starts at 9pm.

The tunes just keep on comin'. Tonight we rock Hotel Fiesole. This is another fun venue with plenty of room and a real dance floor! And we plan to keep you up and dancing all night. We start at 7:30 and the party stops (maybe) at 11:30. See you there.

Crushed it at Big Phil’s…

Our second gig at Big Phil's Bar and Grill was even better than our first- and that's saying something. Our sets were full of good, rockin' classic rock tunes that had everybody singing and dancing in their seats all night long. Everybody was having fun and that's the way we love it. This is truly a great venue- great food, drink, and service and we added the live music. What more could you ask for?

We hope to return next year; we'll see what we can do but it's clear Phil and the gang want us back.

Speaking of Phil and the gang we can't thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality. They couldn't have done anything more to make our evening a success.

Next Saturday, August 12th, is Hotel Fiesole. We're excited to return there as well. Music starts at 8pm. See you there.

In the meantime stay safe and healthy and keep on rockin'.

Awesome night at Cabana Bar…

What a blast at Cabana Bar (Basta Pasta) last night. The weather was ideal and the place was packed until the very end. As is usually the case we honored a few requests for encores- we weren't leaving if nobody else was.

There were so many fans and friends of the band and we love how much fun they have at our gigs. There were plenty of other folks too who were digging our tunes. Hopefully they become fans as well. The place was hopping and people were singing to and dancing along with so many of our songs. It is also so gratifying that when at the end of the night so many people stop and tell us how much they enjoyed our music. We thank all of you for your support.

Thanks of course to Cabana Bar for inviting us to play. We return on August 26th.

We have one more vacation this coming week. We resume gigging on August 5th at Big Phil's. Hope to see you there.

In the meantime stay safe and healthy and keep on rockin.'

Back to Cabana Bar…

So we're back at it again tomorrow at one of our very favorite venues: Cabana Bar in Skippack. We love outdoor gigs and this one is always a blast with folks hanging out all over including the parking lot. (Don't forget your lawn chairs!) So let's all hope for good weather and we'll have a party like we always do.

Swept the doubleheader…

So we made it through our doubleheader- and it was a great day/night.

The 1st annual Eagleville Taphouse Car Show was a great success. There were dozens of really cool cars that all of us were gawking at. Not sure what some of those car owners do for a living...but lucky them. We were happy to provide the musical backdrop to the event and managed to survive the heat and the intermittent showers. Kudos to Corey and Dom for putting together the event and thanks to them for inviting us to be a part of it.

The night gig at Hattricks was a great way to end the day. We were inside the bar where it was nice and cool- a dramatic change from the heat outside in the afternoon. As usual we brought a sizable contingent of Breaking Curfew fans and there were some new ones as well. Some folks who saw us at the Car Show liked us so much they came out to Hattricks and rocked with us there too! Thanks to Bob and Lauren who worked hard all night keeping the party going with good food and drinks.

Overall it was a great day for us and we had fun playing for so many different people over the course of 7 hours. When it was over though we promised ourselves never to do that again...well never say never.

Next gig is Friday, July 21st, at Cabana Bar- another of our favorite venues. Music starts at 7pm and don't forget to bring your lawn chairs. Let's hope for a rain-free evening.

Until we see you again be safe and healthy and keep on rockin'.
