Back at it with a vengeance…
Hey folks- vacations are over for now and it's back to business for us. No more lying around in the sun. We're rarin' to jam out again and see all of your smiling faces. We pick it back up this Saturday July 15th with a true doubleheader. That's right- 2 gigs in one day/night. First up it's The Eagleville Taphouse for their first annual car show. If you like cool cars of all makes, models, and vintages and awesome classic rock music then that's the place to be from 11 am to 3pm. We play from noon to 3pm. After a couple hour break we head to Hatfield for a return to Hattricks which promises to be a great party. The music starts at 8pm and goes until midnight. (And Sunday we rest.) Hope to see you all at one or the other (or both) so make your plans now.
June schedule is history…
And so our June schedule ends after our gig at The Dutch last night. Not the usual Dutch crowd (I guess it's summer vacation season already) but those who were there were treated to our usual mix of great classic rock tunes. We thank everyone who come out and had a good time with us and we thank The Dutch for inviting us to play. We'll be back there October 14th.
Now it's hiatus time. We'll be back in business on July 15th with a literal double header: Eagleville Taphouse (Car Show) at noon and Hattricks at 8pm. We can't wait- should be a fun day/night.
In the meantime be good to each other and be safe and healthy. And, of course, keep om rockin’.
Back to The Dutch tonight…
It's hard to believe it's the middle of June. We've almost reached the halfway point of 2023. For the band it's been a great 6 months: we've played out almost every weekend and have had successful debuts at 4 new venues for us as well as multiple opportunities to play at many of our favorite venues. All the while we've enjoyed seeing so many of our friends and fans. Equally satisfying is meeting new people and making new fans at every gig. We love what we do and we can't overstate how much we appreciate the support.
Our final gig for the month of June is today Saturday, June 17th, at The Dutch Cottage Tavern. The Dutch has always been a great venue and we've always had a blast there. This Saturday will be no different. The party starts at 8pm.
After today we are off for a few weeks- vacations, etc. We pick things back up in July and the second half of the year will be as busy and awesome as the first half.
Big Phil’s up next…
Hey folks- Next up for us is another new venue: Big Phil’s. We keep increasing our visibility and we’re showing more and more people what we’re all about. And you know what that is: kick ass classic rock tunes that everyone knows and loves. So mark it on your calendars and join us this Saturday, June 10th at 8pm. Big Phil’s is located at 351 East Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA. (What used to be the Coventry Mall.)
Tom’s hosted a celebration…
From time to time at our gigs we are fortunate to be a part of a celebration of a major life event, most often a birthday, anniversary, etc. However, recently we've been on a run of retirement celebrations (I guess that says something about our ages. lol) This was the case last night at Tom's as one of Rich's US Postal Service buddies, Steve, joined the lucky group of retirees. (Although, in the quip of the night, Tub reminded him: "The bad thing about retirement is that there are no days off!) Many of Steve's friends were there to wish him well and to drink a few (!) in appreciation of his dedicated service. Photos of the occasion are already posted on this page.
Overall, it was a fun night as there were also many other friends of the band and Tom's regulars who partied the night away accompanied by our classic rock covers. It's always a blast at Tom's. Thanks again Anthony for inviting us to jam there.
Next Saturday is another new venue for us: Big Phil's. We are excited about showing Big Phil's what Breaking Curfew is all about. That party starts at 8pm.
Great debut at Timothy’s…
Our debut at Timothy's in Exton was awesome. We had so many friends of the band rocking along with us as well as a lot of Timothy's regulars. We broke out some new (for us) tunes and played a lot of everyone's favorites as well. And, as is always the case, we had most of the place singing and/or dancing all night long.
We must say Timothy's is a great place for bands (plenty of space) and a great place to hear live music. The food is extra delicious and the beverages are thirst quenching and delicious. We also appreciated the support we received all night.
Thanks to Sarah and Rochelle (who was dancing and singing while tending bar all night!) who made our debut there possible. We're going to work on a return gig if we can find a date that works for both of us.
Tonight (Saturday) we return to one of our very favorite venues: Tom's in Royersford. That party starts at 8pm.
June starts off with a bang…a double banger actually…
Ok gang! We flip the calendars to June and it looks like another busy month for Breaking Curfew! We’re doing a double banger this weekend starting off this Friday night June 2nd at Timothy’s Lionville (our debut) from 8pm to 11pm and then Saturday June 3rd at one of our favorites Tom’s Bar and Grille from 8pm to 12 midnight. We’ll be throwing new material at you so come on out and let’s make it a party! See you there!
Local Tap to close out May schedule…
We end our busy month of May at The Local Tap in Lansdale. Our second gig there and we’re psyched to be returning. It’s a cool venue that offers up awesome home-brewed beers along with great live music. As always we expect it to be a fun night. We have the weekend off for the Memorial Day holiday but then get right back at it the first weekend in June.
Awesome debut at Eagleville Taphouse…
Our debut at Eagleville Taphouse went spectacularly. Great crowd made up of old friends of the band as well as people new to the band. One common denominator was everyone loved the music. The best part was that all the pent up energy to dance finally exploded and we had great dancers at the end of the night. So many people having fun- it became contagious.
Thanks to Corey for inviting us to play. There was some talk about having us return, perhaps in the summer, if we can find an opening in our schedule. We'd love to go back.
A special thanks too to the great staff at Eagleville Taphouse who kept everyone there well hydrated and well fed. All the food going by us looked sooo delicious we were tempted to grab some off the plates.
So thanks again to all those who came and enjoyed the night with us. We appreciated your support and your positive feedback. We hope to see you again soon.
Next week we're at the Local tap in Lansdale. Party starts at 7 30pm.
Check out the rest of our schedule here on our website.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, be kind, and keep on rockin'.
So good to be back at Cabana Bar…
Cabana Bar was our first outdoor gig (we love playing outside) this year and the weather gods were good to us last night... it was not as cold as we thought it might be and the rain showers held off until just about 10pm (which was our curfew.) We ended up playing straight through our 2nd set into our 3rd set as we had a great crowd that showed no signs of succumbing to the cool night air. As usual people were singing and dancing in their seats. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with some cool specialty drinks and also celebrated a couple birthdays of good fans of the band.
Thanks to Steph at Cabana Bar for inviting us to play again this summer (we have 3 more dates there) and thanks to Pam and her crew for all their help and support throughout the night.
We return to Cabana Bar on July 21st.
Tonight we hit the stage at Great Barn Taphouse. Music starts at 8pm.
For the rest of our 2023 schedule please visit our schedule page.
Until we see you again, stay safe and healthy and keep on rockin'.
Back to back weekend…
Well folks, after a weekend off we have a double header coming up this weekend. Friday night, which is both Cinco de Mayo AND First Friday in Skippack we return to Cabana Bar to start our summer series there. This is a great outdoor venue and it looks like the weather will cooperate (though a little on the cool side.) Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs because the place will be packed but there’s plenty of room in the parking lot. Starting time is 7pm.
We follow that gig up with our return to The Great Barn Taphouse on Saturday night. This is a cool venue too with plenty of space for dancing. Oh yeah, they have great craft beers and delicious food too. We start at 8pm.
Double the chances to hear great classic rock tunes and party with all your friends.
“Can You See The Rain?”…
Yes we can and we did…Those who braved the heavy rains- and there were many of you- and came out to Marchwood Tavern last night treated yourselves to a great party. I'm typically a modest guy but I have to say we smoked it all night- we played song after song that had people dancing, singing, and just having a great time. It got crazier- in a good way- as the night went on and more people joined in the fun.
We've said it before, there are great people at Marchwood and they know how to party and have a good time. We're glad to be apart of it.
Much thanks to the Marchwood crew who helped clear the space where we played and who kept the food and drinks coming at a rapid rate. It was all good.
We're back at Marchwood on August 19th so please mark your calendars.
Next weekend is our first weekend off in 6 weeks but we pick things up with full May and June schedules. Check out where we 'll be on our our Schedule page.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy, be kind, and keep on rockin'.
Back to Marchwood…
So gang we close out our busy April with a return to Marchwood Tavern. We've always had a blast playing there...great crowd with great energy and delicious food and thirst-quenching libations. Can’t wait to rock the place again. Saturday, April 22nd, with the party starting at 9pm.
Kicked butt at Crafty’s…
I know this is becoming a very repetitive refrain but we had a great time at Crafty's Saturday night. It was what has become a typical Breaking Curfew gig- lots of friends, fans and new faces with everyone digging our music. So often we hear how much everyone loves the songs we play- great, timeless classic rock tunes- because they can sing and/or dance along. It's so cool for us to look out and see so many people on the dance floor but there are as many if not more people at the bar or at their tables moving and singing along with us. We can see that people are feeling good and enjoying themselves and that's what it's all about for us.
Thanks to all who came out last night and thanks to Megan for giving us this chance to play at Crafty's. And thanks to Frank and the entire Crafty's crew who did their usual great job keeping everything running smoothly.
We return on December 1st- we know it's a long wait but it'll be worth it.
In the meantime we're out and about almost every weekend- next up is Crooked Eye this Saturday, April 15th- so check out our schedule.
Bucks County here we come…
Yea here we go again! We’re playing in Bucks County the next two weekends. It all starts this Saturday night April 8th at Crafty’s Taproom located at 355 York Road in Warminster. We jam from 9pm to 12 midnight so come on out and bring your favorite partners and enjoy a few beverages with the band! The follwing weekend we’re at the Crooked Eye Brewery located at 13 East Montgomery Avenue in Hatboro. We rock it from 7pm to 10pm. Hope to catch you at one or both shows!
Catching up…
I’ve fallen a little behind on my posts…since I last wrote we’ve had two gigs…
The Dutch (March 25): An epic night at The Dutch- we always have a great time there. This probably sounds like a broken record but the place was again packed with family, friends and, fans. The energy was palpable and everyone seemed to feed off of it- including us in the band.
There isn't a dance floor per se at the Dutch but that didn't stop people from dancing in the aisles or by their tables. Those who weren't dancing could be seen singing along in the chairs. Everybody had a fun, raucous time.
An event of note during the night was our celebrating the birthday of one of the great fans of the band- Jimmy. Happy Birthday Jimmy. Hope you enjoyed "Rockin' the Free World."
We aren't allowed to play past curfew - 11 30pm - at The Dutch out of respect for the neighbors. However, last night there was such a clamour for us to play one more song we were given permission to do so (Thanks Jenn!) So we ended the night with a killer version of "Highway to hell." Everyone was thus able to go home satisfied.
All in all a fantastic, fun party night. In other words a typical Breaking Curfew gig.
And then Hattricks (last night): It was a dark and stormy night...seriously, it was a very dark and very stormy night (though thankfully no tornado.)Torrential rains and fierce winds tried to put the kibash on our gig at Hattricks but we would have none of it. We sloshed through small streams and lakes to be sure we were set up on time. (Actually the worst of it was over by the time our gig was scheduled to start.)
We were moved to the inside bar due to the weather (there was some water seepage under the doors of the new large venue space.) It was a nice and warm space and we had a great turnout again of our good friends. We can always count on their support and they came through again last night. Though there was no dance floor that didn't stop anyone from singing along and dancing in their seats.
We played and played until a little after midnight - our curfew- but there were loud and imploring calls for an encore and we so obliged. Another curfew broken. And everyone left satisfied.
Thanks again to all who came up last night and partied with us. Also, thanks to Bob and Angie for their support throughout the night. We return to Hattricks on July 15th but we have a few (!) gigs scheduled between now and then- and after then too. Next week, April 8th, is Crafty's in Warminster. Starts at 9pm.
Stellar night- again- at Hotel Fiesole…
Another stellar night at Hotel Fiesole. The place was full of friends and fans- old and new. Always great to see familiar faces but new ones as well. Most stayed until the very end which we truly appreciate. As usual we delivered a great mix of classic rock tunes- with a bunch of new ones to us mixed in- that had everyone dancing, whether on the floor or in their seats. We had another birthday party (Happy Birthday Frank!) (And Destiny too!)to boot. A party from start to finish- everyone still had plenty energy left after celebrating St. Patty's Day the day/night before.
We love Hotel Fiesole- a great venue for music (and good food and drink.) We're lucky to be returning there on August 12th and November 18th so mark your calendars.
Next week is another fun Skippack venue- The Dutch Tavern. We're there on Saturday the 25th and that party starts at 8pm.
A triumph at Tom’s…
We crushed it at Tom's last night. It was good to be back in front of a crowd after a couple weeks off- and what a crowd it was. There were so many of the band’s friends and many more people who were looking forward to listening to good live music. We played a wide variety from our song list including some new ones. Every song went over well as evidenced by so many people dancing and singing along, There was tremendous energy all over the place.
Needless to say, we, the band, had a blast as well watching everyone having such a great time.
A major thank-you goes out to the Tom's crew: Jack, Taran, Stephanie who worked hard all night serving up delicious drinks and food. It's no wonder Tom's is seen as the premiere live music venue in the area. It's absolutely one of our very favorite venues to play.
We already had another date scheduled at Tom's- June 3rd. Anthony was gracious enough to book us another time later in the year- October 6th. (Thanks Anthony.) You have two more chances to catch us in Royersford. We are psyched.
There are plenty of other opportunities to catch us; go to our schedule page and check out all our upcoming dates.
Tom’s is next…
After a brief break (one of us had the temerity to go on a vacation the past week) we head back to Tom’s this Saturday. We love to rock this place and the jam starts at 8pm. Always a great crowd there and we expect this Saturday to be extra raucous.
On a side note, our schedule for the year has turned out to be awesome and it’s just about full- maybe one or two more additions but that would be it. Plenty of our favorite venues but also a number of new places where we’ll show new folks what we’re all about. Don’t hesitate to check out our schedule page to see what we mean.
Great end of the double header weekend…
We realize there are many ways people can enjoy live music- from dancing like no one's watching to every song to quietly listening and lip-synching along with the band. We appreciate them all as long as it means people are enjoying themselves.
The second half of our weekend at The Trum was more of the quiet lip-synching kind crowd but it was clear everyone there was having a good time. We certainly had some dancers as well. Either way it was evident people were connecting with the music and we always appreciate that.
We always have a good time at The Trum and are a bit bummed we don't return there until September 9th. It'll be worth the wait.
We have a little break now as one of our members has the audacity to take a little trip. We pick things back up on March 4th at another one of our favorite venues, the one and only Tom's in Royersford. That's the start of a very busy stretch as we have gigs almost every weekend for the next many months. We're psyched for it all.
A very special shout out to Carly at The Trum for her hard work all night keeping the food and drinks coming and everyone happy.
The big event of the weekend is in a few hours and we're all looking forward to an Eagles win!!! GO BIRDS!!
Be sure to check out our Schedule page as we have added more dates to our "2023 Tour."
