Final 2024 gig at Big Phil’s was a rockin’ success…
Our fifth and final 2024 gig at Big Phil's was nothing short of awesome. All because of our great fans who sang and danced all night long. So much energy and enthusiasm and joy. We loved it and fed off it.
There were also a number of newcomers to the fan club and we're happy to welcome them.
We played past curfew as usual but then also answered the calls for 2 more songs. We're always happy to oblige those requests.
We also got to celebrate Big Phil's birthday (a day late). Such a cool guy.
Big thanks to Ryan, Morgan, Keely who did yeoman’s work behind the bar and on the floor. Awesome crew at Big Phil's. They were also a huge reason the night was so great.
Special thanks also to our finance manager Janet.
We have a couple of weeks off but pick things back up on November 30th with a return to The Trum Tavern. Then on December 7th we complete what has been a very successful year at The Marchwood Tavern. Hope to see you folks at one or both of those gigs.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy. We also hope everyone has a wonderful
A Brickhouse blast…
Fun time at Brickhouse last night. As usual many familiar faces- friends, family, and fans. We rocked the place for 3 hours and everyone still had lots of energy after celebrating Halloween the night before. Dancers all night, including one wild chair dance to "Funky Music." Sorry, no video of that. LOL
We appreciate all who came out and of course we are grateful for the support of the Brickhouse staff.
We return to the Brickhouse on February 1st and were already looking forward to that gig.
Today we have the second half of our double header weekend. We play at a fundraiser for Jenna's Blessing Bags which is an organization created in the memory of Jenna Burleigh. This group collects and distributes clothing, personal hygiene supplies, and foodstuffs to improve the lives of the homeless population. We are honored to a part of this event.
Spooky night at D-Town VFW…
Halloween blast at Downingtown VFW last night. What a party! So many cool costumes. Costume or not though, everyone had an awesome time. As always at the VFW the dance floor was packed all night. Now that we've been there a number of times we recognize so many of the members and they all make us feel so welcome. And, of course, we brought many of our own friends and fans as well.
We look forward to a return visit or two next year. We're going to work on some dates.
Next weekend is a double header: Brickhouse on Friday night and a fundraiser for Jenna's Blessing Bags on Saturday night. Looking forward to both.
We hope to see you soon but in th
Fun night at Timothy’s…
Fun night at Timothy's. A little smaller crowd than usual but just as enthusiastic. Fun place to play. We want to thank everyone who came out last night and the entire Timothy's crew for making it a fun time for all who were there.
Next up is the Halloween Costume Party at Downingtown VFW. This should be a blast and we can't wait. Saturday, October 26th, from 7pm to 11pm (and probably later.) Open to the public so get your best costume and take a shot at the prize money being offered.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Whitpain tavern was a blast…
All's well that ends well. No problem with the change in venue because we rocked the Whitpain Tavern last night. Enthusiastic, raucous crowd that couldn't sit or stand still all night. As usual a large contingent of Breaking Curfew fans as well as loads of new fans. Such great feedback and response.
We jammed 42 of some of the best classic rock tunes and everybody was digging it. People danced and sang along all night.
Whitpain is a great venue and we feel fortunate we got a chance to play there. Plenty of space for the band and dancers. Add great food and drinks to that and you have all the ingredients for an awesome party which is what it was.
We are now at the beginning of a busy stretch for us which takes us through the end of the year. Next up is a return to Timothy's in Exton this Friday, October 18th. We jam there from 8pm to 11pm.
Hope to see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Awesome night at Big Phil’s…
Well it was an awesome night at Big Phil's. Great crowd that was hooting and hollering all night, with plenty of dancers as well. We also got to celebrate 3- count 'em, 3 birthdays. That of course added to the high energy party atmosphere.
As usual we played past curfew; but no encores because we need to conserve energy for tomorrow's private gig.
We appreciate the support Big Phil's has given us and continues to give us. That includes Big Phil of course, Maria C., and Ryan and his crew who did a fantastic job behind the bar, in the kitchen, etc.
And, of course, we appreciate the support of all our friends and fans who keep coming to our shows. Couldn’t do it without you.
We return to Big Phil's for the last time in 2024 on November 9th. Mark it down. (We hope to have a few dates in 2025 too; we'll keep you posted on that.)
After tomorrow's private party we return Friday, September 27th, to the Cabana Bar. We start at 7pm. We start praying for good weather on Monday. LOL
We hope to see you all soon. In the me
And The Trum did rock…
Thanks to all who came out and partied with us at the Trum Tavern last night. We brought our "A" game with a lot of our heavier stuff and rocked the place all night long. An enthusiastic and appreciative audience was on hand and helped keep the energy at a very high level. Even the folks playing pool in the back room were digging our tunes. One of our newest and biggest fan, Heather, made it with her new hip and husband Drew. Now that's determination and the kind of support with love.
Special thanks to Steven Lewis for inviting us to jam at his place. He wants us back in 2025 for 2 or 3 gigs. (We actually have one more there this year on November 30th.)
Extra special thanks to Melody who was working hard behind the bar and out front as well making sure everyone had plenty of liquid and solid fuel. LOL.
Next up for us is Big Phil's on September 21st. That's become a favorite venue of ours. That party starts at 8pm.
Until we see you again stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Blew the walls off at the Dutch…
We blew the walls off the Dutch last night. Well actually, they had taken the temporary walls down and opened up the entire back of the place which was awesome given the weather was perfect. So we didn't blow the walls down but we would have if they had still been up. lol
Great crowd as always at The Dutch. Loads of our fans and friends were there as well as a lot of Dutch regulars. So much positive feedback as we jammed a good mix of everyone's favorite classic rock tunes AND we dusted off some songs we hadn't played in a while for something a bit different.
Dancers, dancers, dancers! It was great to see so many people on the cornhole court right next to us showing off their best moves. (At least until the cornholers reclaimed the space.) Then any open space worked as a dance floor.
Thanks again to all who came out to party with us. The support means everything to us.
Nothing scheduled for Labor Day weekend so we'll spend time with our families. Hope you all have a safe and fun holiday.
Next up for us is The Trum Tavern- one of the very first places we played. September 7th at 8pm. Hope to see you there
Incredible night at Cabana Bar…
What an incredible night at Cabana Bar. The place was packed even before our first song and it ended up being standing room only. It was clear that everyone there was primed to party and that's exactly what they did. We had dancers all night (finding whatever sliver of space they could) and the most back-up singers we've ever had. What a blast!
And this all played out under a beautiful sunset and then a clear night sky. Perfect. Thank you weather gods.
Sooo many of our fans showed up, including some we hadn't seen a little while. So cool to connect again with them.
(We also want to thank the young woman who left a VERY generous tip. We saw you drop it in the jar but had no idea what denomination it was. We wish we could have thanked you in person.)
As James often says: "We couldn't do this without you! And you! And you!" So thanks so much for the ongoing support.
We close out our month of August with a return to The Dutch next Saturday and you know that's always a super fun night. Hope to see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Epic night at Eagleville Taphouse…
An epic night at Eagleville Taphouse. Big, enthusiastic crowd all night with lots of familiar faces. We have such a devoted following and we appreciate the support. Of course, lots of new faces too which means lots of new fans. Though not a lot of room for dancing that didn't stop folks from finding whatever space they could to let loose. And those not dancing were singing along.
As usual we went past "curfew"- nobody wanted the music to stop.
The Eagleville Taphouse is a cool venue: good food, good drinks, and lots of room to party. If you've never been you should give it at try.
We appreciate Lee for inviting us to jam there again. And a big shout out to Nellie and DJ who hustled all night long making sure no glass was empty and no need was unmet.
Next up is Cabana Bar in Skippack this Friday August 16th. An outdoor venue and the music starts at 7pm. Hope to see you there.
In the meantime...you know what I always say...stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Big Phil’s was rockin’…
An enthusiastic crowd at Big Phil's...as usual a lot of familiar faces but many new ones too. (And it was great to see newlyweds Gary and Tina!) We treated everyone to 3 hours of our favorite classic rock tunes and they all dug them all.
Thanks to Ryan and his crew for their hard work all night behind the bar and out in the restaurant serving up great drinks and delicious food.
We're back at it next Saturday when we return to the Eagleville Tavern. Promises to be another fun night. Hope to see you there.
We rocked Tom’s again…
We had a good mid-summer Friday night crowd at Tom's last night. Always a fun time at Tom's and last night was no exception. We appreciated the support from so many of our loyal fans as well as from some new fans too. It's always cool to hear someone who has never seen/heard us before come up to us and say how much they love what we do.
A huge thanks to Tom's crew in the kitchen and at the bar as they worked hard all night keeping everyone satisfied. And a big thanks again to Anthony for inviting us to jam there. That's it for us at Tom's for this year; we look forward to returning in 2025.
Next up for us is Big Phil's in Pottstown on August 3rd. Mark your calendars and we'll see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Awesome debut at Lione’s…
We had an awesome debut at Lione's Pizza and Restaurant. Our hiatus had no effect on us; in fact we came back energized and excited to be back rockin' out. And, of course, it was great to see again so many family and friends.
A new place means new people who haven't seen us before and the feedback from them was so positive. And Lione's staff was impressed as well as a few told us we "killed it."
It was a hot night to start so there were only a few dancers initially. But, after the sun set and it was just warm the dance floor heated up and stayed packed the rest of the night.
We were so impressed with Lione's as a venue for live music. (It is obviously a great bar and restaurant as well.) We played outside on the patio out back (we were covered thankfully) and they opened the huge sliding doors so the bar becomes part of the action. It was a great crowd.
Of course we went part curfew and as usual were requested strongly to play one more song. Naturally we were happy to oblige.
Thanks to Carlo for inviting us to play; he definitely wants us back so we're going to see if we can squeeze one more gig in this year. If not, we'll return in 2025.
And thanks to the entire Lione's crew for their hard work all night long.
Next up for us is Tom's in Royersford- a favorite venue of ours. That's this coming Friday, July 19th. Music starts at 8pm.
Crushed it at Puck Live…
We crushed it at The Puck. Great night as the place was standing room only and the dance floor was in use all night. An awesome crowd that spanned all ages and everyone there was energetic and enthusiastic from the first note to the last crash of the cymbals. A lot of new faces mixed in with many of our regulars.
We blew through our designated curfew finishing up the scheduled portion of the gig with our favorite crowd participation tunes: Sweet Child, Fight For Your Right, and Highway to Hell. Folks swarmed the front of the stage to help us out, belting out the lyrics along with James. But even that was not enough as everyone was chanting "one more song" and "encore." Of course we were happy to oblige their request.
Another fun, fun night.
We had a great set-up courtesy of The Puck: nice actual stage with a killer sound system (complete with excellent sound man, Dave) and full complement of lights as well.
The Puck is a cool venue offering a wide range of delicious beverages with the emphasis of course on beers. When the kitchen is up and running that place will be an unbeatable venue.
We now head into our longest break of the year. We're going to spend time with our families vacationing and staycationing, grilling and chilling, and celebrating graduations, birthdays, and anniversaries, etc. We pick things back up in July at another new venue, Lione's in Downingtown.
Thanks again to all who came out last night and thanks for your ongoing support of the band. As James always says: we couldn't do this without you. And as I always say: stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Wild night at Marchwood Tavern…
A wild night at Marchwood Tavern. We love that place and it loves us back. Good crowd as usual with a lot of our regular "peeps." A lot of dancing also as usual. We have a group that loves to let it loose on the dance floor. And last night we were treated with a group of very enthusiastic "dancers" with, uh, some unorthodox dance moves. (James was in peril most of the night as they were "doing their thing" within inches of him.)
Fun night.
Thanks again to all who came out and to the Marchwood Tavern crew for taking care of things all night long.
This coming Friday, June 7, we are heading to Great Barn Taphouse at Puck Live. Music starts at 7pm. Hope to see you there.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rocki
Catching up; Skippack Spring Tour…
I’ve missed a few weeks blogging. Suffice it to say we’ve been busy with gigs almost every weekend. We’ve rocked Big Phil’s, The Trum Tavern, Cabana Bar, and Dutch Cottage Tavern since my lost post. All have been successful gigs with great crowds. Here are more specific details of Cabana Bar and The Dutch.
Awesome night at Cabana Bar. Our first outdoor gig of the year and the weather gods delivered near perfect conditions: mild temps, little breeze, and a moon shining down brightly on us. The great weather brought out a huge crowd as the bar was packed all night with the usual mix of family, friends, and fans (new and old.) All were singing along with us and dancing in place. As we often say, a fun time was had by all. Thanks to all who came out.
Not going to lie. Things at The Dutch started off a little slow and we were thinking maybe this was going to be one of those off nights...but then things changed quickly and it turned into one of those nights that was crazy and in a very good way. Not sure what it was but near the end of our first set it was like a couple buses unloaded out front. People kept pouring in and the place was packed- inside and out. And everyone was in a party mood, singing, dancing, playing cornhole, eating, and drinking. We dug it of course, so much so that we played through what would have been our second break. We just didn't want the vibes to stop. We were energized and, of course, we played through curfew when the chants for one more song reverberated throughout the place. We're always happy to oblige. Great night and we thank all who came out and the wonderful staff at the Dutch who worked hard all night.
We're off for the holiday weekend but we resume our schedule on June 1st at Marchwood Tavern in Exton. Mark your calendars for a 9pm start time.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
Can’t top The Tap…
We just keep rollin' along. Last night we returned to The Local Tap, known for its excellent beers and cocktails (and some new food items as well. We had the "slutty fries" and they were awesome!) It was also known last night for great classic rock tunes because we brought the sound track for a fun evening. We were blessed to have many of our friends and fans on hand but also lots of Lansdale locals. The newbies dug us and were boppin' to and singing along with the music- one favorite song after another.
Special thanks to Diane and Christine who were working the bar and kept busy all night.
We have one more gig to go in this stretch- Big Phil's in Pottstown. Were excited to get back there because it's always a raucous time.
Thanks for your support- we couldn't do this without it. Hope to see you soon (next week?) In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
A blast at VFW Post 845…
We said folks should bring their dancing shoes to the D-Town VFW gig last night and they did. The dance floor was jumping all night - except for the slow songs when it was more sedate - and people were having a great time movin' and groovin' to the music. You combine the awesome members of Post 845 with our amazing fans and you've got one hell of a party. We certainly had a blast. (And we went past curfew again!)
As always, the VFW crew was stellar - especially Sharon and Lovey behind the bar who were keeping the libations flowing all night. The kitchen crew (they wanted to remain anonymous) also did yeoman work. Great venue for live music and an all-around fun time. We'll be back on October 26th for the Halloween spectacular.
We keep things going with a return to the Local Tap next Saturday.
Again, thanks to all those who came out last night. We greatly appreciate the support; can't do this without you.
Until we see you again, stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And, as always, keep on rockin."
Our own March Madness at Eagleville Taphouse…
Great night at the Eagleville Taphouse. Good crowd, especially for a holiday weekend. A lot of our regular "peeps" were there (yes, we have "peeps" too, human ones, not the marshmallow ones that the Easter Bunny brings. Though maybe I should check my basket this morning- maybe he brought me some.) A lot of Breaking Curfew "newbies" too. They dug us and promised to check us out again. Always cool when that happens.
Thanks to Lee (who was solicitous of all our needs) and her crew for all their hard work.
Tomorrow the calendar turns to April. (Hard to believe it!) And April is another busy month for us. We start it off on Friday with a private party hosted by one of our first and most devoted fans. We're definitely excited about that. For the rest of the month's festivities check out our website. We're coming to a place near you.
As I always say: In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
SRO at The Dutch…
Standing Room Only at The Dutch last night- and what a night it was. There was sooo much positive energy last night. Folks were ready to party and party they did all night. We fed off their energy and rocked the place. There's not a lot of room for dancing but a few found space and the rest were our back-up singers all night. So cool.
As usual a lot of friendly faces - actually they were all friendly- but a lot of our fans as well as a lot of newbies to the band. We received so much positive feedback- that is so greatly appreciated by us.
The Dutch is an awesome place to party and have great time. We appreciate all the work the staff did the entire night. They were kept busy from beginning to end.
We're back at The Dutch on May 18th and we can't wait. We want to do it all over again. Hope you'll join us.
However, we're looking forward to next Saturday when we return to Eagleville Taphouse. That party starts at 7pm. Set your watches.
We want to say again how much we appreciate venues like The Dutch and people like you supporting live music. We couldn't do it without all of you.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
