Smokin’ at The Dutch…
It was a cool night at The Dutch but we were smokin'. (Actually the The Dutch was jumpin' all night as it always is it seems.) We were on such a roll we plowed right through what normally would have been our second break. There were some new tunes sprinkled in with the classic rock favorites we play that everyone loves. There was a lot singing along and dancing.
We had so many of our friends and fans come out to party with us and there were a lot of Dutch regulars as well. Everybody was having a great time. We are so thankful for all of you and for your enthusiasm and support.
That's our last gig at The Dutch for the year but we've already scheduled dates for next year.
Thanks to Tori for inviting us to play and thanks to Ryan and his crew for their hospitality all night.
Next week is another new venue for us- The Market at Liberty Place. We're looking forward to showing those folks in Kennett Square what Breaking Curfew is all about. Hope to see you there. We start at 6pm. (A lot of great food places there so come for dinner and music.)
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and bee kind to yourselves and one another. And as always keep on rockin’.
Hiatus over…rocked the Downingtown VFW…
Even after the relatively long (for us) break we picked up where we left off- no rust. Another good night at Downingtown VFW although it took until our 3rd song (!) before people got on the dance floor. But after that it was hopping all night.
Great people at the VFW. Always happy to see us and so supportive of what we do. Everybody has a good time and that's what it's all about.
Thanks to Sharon for inviting us to play and to her staff for making the night go so smoothly.
We return on December 6th and we're looking forward to rocking the place again.
However, we have a busy schedule coming up. We return to the Dutch Cottage Tavern next Saturday, October 25th, and that's always a fun night too. Hope to see your smiling faces then.
Thanks again for your support. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your self and one another. And keep on rockin".
Blast at Lione’s…
What a blast at Lione's Saturday night. Great night all the way around. The weather was perfect and we were able to play out on the back patio. This opened up room for more people and it was needed as the place was packed before we played a note. Again, many many familiar faces as well a lot of new faces. Once the first person hit the dance floor the dam was burst and from that point on the floor was packed. Even those not dancing were jamming to the tunes and singing along. Everyone was having a good time. (Further evidence: after we finished - we went past curfew again- some of Lione's staff came up to us and told us they had fun. That's high praise because those folks were WORKING and they still had a good time.)
We were pleased to celebrate Deb Alvord's (James' wife) birthday. She turned 39 again. So many of her friends and family helped with the celebration. It was also Tub's (John's) birthday. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to sing for him. Sorry John.
Thanks again to Carlo for inviting us to play and thanks to his awesome staff for helping to keep the party vibes going all night.
Believe it or not, due to a vacation and a venue cancelling a gig on us we're off until October 18th! That's when we return to Downingtown VFW. We'll have been rejuvenated and re-energized- and we will have some new tunes as well.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and others. It's especially important as this is a fraught time in our country. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Party Time at the Clubhouse Sports Bar…
Fun night at Clubhouse Sports Bar. Started out a bit slow but picked up steam quickly as a bunch of family and friends - some who we haven't seen in a while - came pouring in. There were dancers most of the night; folks had a great time listening to our music and when not dancing or eating and drinking, they were playing pinball, shuffleboard, or pool.
Thanks to Jim, Chuck, and Kira who worked hard all night keeping the food and drinks coming: they helped fuel the party.
We're lucky to be coming back to Clubhouse on November 14th. Mark it on your calendars.
Next up for us is a return visit on Friday to Lione's in Downingtown. This will be another wild party night as we're going to be celebrating the birthday of someone close to the band and we anticipate loads of people joining us in wishing this person a happy birthday.
Thanks again for all your support. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and each other. And keep on rockin'.
Stellar night at Big Phil’s…
Another stellar night at Big Phil's. We interrupted their "Emo" weekend with 3 plus hours of classic rock tunes. Nobody seemed to mind. Good crowd. Everybody into the music. Always a fun night there.
Big Phil was there all night overseeing the festivities. He was his usual welcoming self. And his staff was super accommodating as always. The place definitely has a "Cheers" vibe which is so cool.
Thanks to all who came out last night and partied with us.
Tonight we return to the Clubhouse Sports Bar and we're looking forward to rockin' that place as well. (And maybe hit a few balls during our breaks.:))
We hope to see you tonight.
“Won” both ends of our doubleheader…
We just completed our doubleheader weekend and we're tired!! (Well at least I am.) But it was a great weekend all the way around.
Marchwood Tavern, as always, was a lot of fun for us. Great place to play and we enjoyed every minute of it. The staff is so hospitable and that makes our night that much better. We're back in December and we already have 3 dates scheduled for 2026 as well. We appreciate their support of the band.
Then last night at Cabana Bar the third time was the charm. As you may recall our first 2 gigs there this summer were cut short by rain. But last night the weather couldn't have been more perfect and folks took advantage of it and came out in large numbers to party with us. Sooo many friends and fans were there and a lot of newbies as well. We treated them all to 3 plus hours (yes we went past curfew again) of great classic rock tunes and they enjoyed every minute of it, singing along and dancing in place. Our greatest satisfaction as musicians comes from seeing people having a good time. We can't express enough how much we appreciate the support of all of you.
We have nothing scheduled for Labor day weekend. We hope you all have an enjoyable and safe holiday.
We have another double header the following weekend: September 5th at Big Phil's in Pottstown and September 6th at Clubhouse Sports Bar in Chester Springs. We'll be rested and ready for those gigs. Hope to see you at one or both.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and others. And, as always, Keep on Rockin'.
Crushed our debut at Smokehouse Tavern…
Great debut at Smokehouse Tavern. Party vibes throughout the night as many of our friends and fans came out to support us. There were also many Smokehouse regulars who were joining in the fun. Folks were dancing and/or singing along from the first song to the last note.
Smokehouse Tavern is a cool venue- lots of space for the band and plenty of tables for folks to enjoy awesome food and drinks served up by the attentive staff. Special thanks to Nicky who was working the bar all night long and kept the libations flowing.
We return to Smokehouse on October 31st- Halloween! That will surely be a fun night.
We also had a chance to celebrate the anniversary of two of our biggest fans, Tina and Gary. Congratulations you two!
We're off next weekend then have a back-to-back weekend when we return to Marchwood Tavern and Cabana Bar on August 22nd and 23rd.
Thanks again to all who came out last night. We appreciate your support more than you van imagine.
Until we see you again, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another. And keep on rockin!
A hit at West End Fire Company Social Club…
We finished our double-header weekend at the West End Fire Company Social Club with 3 tight sets of many of our very favorite classic rock tunes- and they turned out to be the favorites of those in attendance as well. This was a new venue for us and that meant a lot of new faces (there were of course familiar faces as well) and they didn't know what to expect from us. But they loved what they got as their enthusiastic responses demonstrated. Nice place to play and we're looking forward to returning in November. And we have already been requested to return a couple times next year.
Thanks to Charlie for inviting us to play and showing us much love all night. And thanks to all the West Enders for coming out and seeing what Breaking Curfew is all about. And, of course, thanks to those familiar faces for coming out too.
We now have Breaking Curfew t-shirts available thanks to our new merchandising manager John Moffa (and his very able assistant Barbara Bristol.) You can purchase them at all our upcoming gigs. And John is planning to add additional Breaking Curfew merch.
We're off for a week but return to action on August 2nd at yet another new venue for us: The Smokehouse Tavern in Lansdale. We're excited for this opportunity too and we look forward to seeing some of you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Rocked Big Phil’s again…
We rocked the house at Big Phil's last night. Another fun night with an enthusiastic crowd that was definitely into the music. We have the best fans who hoot and holler and dance and sing along to every song.
We also had some new faces, Breaking Curfew newbies as Rich calls them. Once they see and hear us they're fans and friends of the band. The club gets bigger and bigger all the time and we love it.
Big Phil's is such an awesome place- great food, drink, and service and great live music on top of that. Phil and his crew are always so supportive and we can't thank them enough for their hospitality.
Guess what? We do it again tonight at the Phoenixville West End Fire Company Social Club. It's a new venue for us and we're psyched to bring our stuff to their place. Hopefully we’ll see some of you there.
Rain shortened gig again at Cabana Bar…but great night anyway…
Great night again at Cabana Bar-although I think the weather gods are messing with us some. Two gigs so far this year at Cabana Bar and both were cut short by rain. However, last night we did get 2 killer sets in before the precipitation started.
A great crowd again that built through the night ending up as overflow, standing room only. And as always a lot of familiar faces and some new ones too. All were digging the music.
We appreciate the support of all who, came out and partied with us. And we appreciate the support we always get from the awesome Cabana Bar crew.
Hard to believe this is the end of the month and we're also now halfway through the year. It's been a very good first half but the second half should be even better with our return to many of our favorite venues and debuts at a number of new venues as well. We hope to see you all many times in the coming months.
We are also going to start a merch "store" offering Breaking Curfew shirts and - hopefully - hats as well. We should have some available at our next gig.
We're off for a couple weekends as some of us enjoy vacation but we'll return with a vengeance on July 18th (Big Phil's) and July 19th (West End Fire Co.) Please check our website for details on these and other upcoming gigs.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Fun debut at Clubhouse Sports Bar…
Fun night at Clubhouse Sports Bar. This is a such a cool place. So much more than virtual golf- good food, good drinks (nice bar), plenty of games (pool, shuffle board, pinball, video games, etc.), big screen TV's, and live music. We were privileged to be one of the first bands to play there and it's an awesome venue for live music. Tons of tables and plenty of room to dance.
We met a lot of cool new people who were definitely into the music. We treated them to many of our "bread and butter" classic rock tunes (44!) that everyone knows.
Thanks to Joe for inviting us to play. We hope to discuss returning at some point in the fall. We'll let you know.
Happy Father's Day to all you guys out there. Enjoy time with your fathers and/or children.
We're at Cabana Bar again on June 28th. Definitely looking forward to that.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another and yourselves. And keep on rockin."
Stellar night at Lione’s…
Another stellar night at Lione's. Place was packed again as we began the first set and dancers didn't wait to hit the floor. We actually had dancers from a wide age range- some youngsters were getting into it too. Cool to introduce some young ones to great classic rock tunes.
As always many familiar faces but we definitely made a lot of new fans as well who commented how much they loved the song selection and wanted to know where we're playing next.
Thanks to all who came out and partied with us. And thanks to Carlo and his awesome staff- they always do a great job. We'll be back a couple more times this year so be sure to check our website for those dates as well as all our upcoming dates.
Our next gig is June 13th at a new venue for us: the Clubhouse Sports Bar in Chester Springs. This is a unique place that offers food and drink but also golf simulators and many different types of games, etc. It should be a blast.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and one another. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
Well we got 2 sets in at Cabana Bar…
Not sure what we did to anger the weather gods, but they played a dirty trick on us this past Saturday at our Cabana Bar gig. All day and up until 7pm when we started the weather app said essentially no chance of rain at all throughout the entire night. And the evening did start out beautifully: clear skies, light breeze, and very comfortable temperature. And we had a great, standing room only crowd. The Cabana Bar even created a nice area right next to the bar with lounge chairs and plenty of space for people to sit on their lawn chairs, which many folks did.
The first set was awesome and we got through most of the second set when the wind really kicked up and the skies darkened. A quick check again of the weather app showed a 70% chance of rain in the next few minutes. Much to our chagrin, we decided to call it a night and hurriedly packed up all our gear and as we were just about finished the rains came. Now it was not a deluge fortunately but it was enough rain that we were glad we made the decision when we did and didn't wait. Frustrating for us and for all those there who were really enjoying the music.
Oh well, these are the chances we take with outdoor gigs. We were thankful though we got to play as much as we did.
Thanks again to all who came out. As usual many familiar faces but quite a few faces we hadn't seen in a while. That was a nice surprise.
We're off on Memorial Day weekend but are back in action on May 31st when we return to Lione's in Downingtown. Hope to see you there.
Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend. Be safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Fun time at Timothy’s…
Another fun night at Timothy's. (Although I think the person who had the most fun was one of our most favorite bartenders, Rochelle.) Good crowd. Dancers. Singers. Toe tappers.
We thank all of you who came out to party with us. Couldn't do it without you.
Second half of our doubleheader is Cabana Bar tonight and- fingers crossed- the weather looks awesome for an outside jam. Hope to see some of you there too. Bring lawn chairs because we expect an overflow crowd.
First outdoor gig of the season at Eagleville Taphouse…
Fun night at Eagleville Taphouse. Our first outdoor gig of the year and the weather was near perfect. Great crowd as usual at the Taphouse. We were happy to see some of our fans that we haven't seen in a little while. And, as usual, we had many of our regulars joining the festivities. Dancers, singers, and toe tappers were in abundance throughout the night. It's hard to resist the beats and rhythms of great classic rock songs- you just have to move.
We appreciated the hard work of the Taphouse crew who kept the food and drinks flowing all night. Couldn't do it without them.
Next weekend is a double header: Friday night at Timothy's in Lionville and Saturday night at Cabana Bar in Skippack which is another outdoor gig. We're psyched.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another.
“Easter Eve” jam at Marchwood was fun time..
Another fun night at Marchwood Tavern...what else is new? The "Easter Eve" crowd was in a great mood and enjoyed the classic rock tunes we jammed. (BTW: how does the Easter Bunny make it to all the kids' homes in one night? A learned scholar says it's because of his high metabolism and very long and strong hind legs. Hmmm...) Anyway, we had a blast as usual and are so thankful for all the folks who came out to party with us.
Thanks to the Marchwood crew for all their hard work throughout the evening. They made it all work smoothly.
Next up for us for us is the Eagleville Taphouse on May 10th. Music commences at 7pm.
In the meantime we hope all of you who celebrate Easter have a great day with whomever you're spending it with. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to each other and yourself. And as always keep on rockin'.
Exceptional night at The Dutch…
Another great night at The Dutch. That place never disappoints and we did our best not to disappoint those who joined us in party mode. We think we did just fine.
Thanks to all who came out last night. We continue to grow our fan base as more "newbies" come to see us at each gig and become followers.
The biggest part of all this is the music. It is evident at each gig that almost everyone, regardless of age, loves classic rock.
We appreciate the ongoing support from The Dutch and we're thankful to have another date there later this year.
Next up in 2 weeks (April 19th) is a return to Marchwood Tavern. We're looking forward to that and hope to see you there.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and others. And, of course, keep on rockin'.
Rocked the VFW…
Another great night this past Saturday at Downingtown VFW. We see a lot of familiar faces now that we've been there a number of times. Those folks come ready to party and they're great people who love to have fun. Dancers from the first song and they kept it up all night.
So much great feedback as everyone loves the tunes we play and the way we play them- we rock them out.
We appreciate Sharon for inviting us to jam there and for her hard work behind the bar- and the rest of the staff as well. They all do a great job keeping everyone primed.
We have a couple more dates there later in the year so check out our website to see when we'll be back.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourselves and others. And, as always keep on rockin'.
Debut at Bella Brew Pub was a tremendous success…
Our debut at Bella Brew Pub was a tremendous success by all measures. The place was near capacity even before we started playing. Folks came early to get a good seat and to get some good food and drink. They were primed to party when the music started and that's what we all did. More came in as the night progressed. So many good friends and fans of the band as well as some newbies showed up to show their support and to have a fun night. And a fun night it was.
We powered through 34 songs including a couple of special requests, a birthday medley, and an encore as requested. We always strive to bring our "A Game" as Rich would say but last night we may have surpassed that.
Our sets included a lot of songs that we haven't played out in a while and it felt good to brush the dust off them. So many great classic rock songs.
The Bella Brew crew was busy all night and we appreciate the yeoman work they did in keeping the food and drinks coming. They seemed happy with how the night went and we'd be surprised if we're not asked to return - and we would love to. Fun place to play.
Again we're sooo appreciative of all you who came out last night. You really are the reason why we do what we do So gratifying to see people having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Next up for us is the Downingtown VFW on March 22nd. Another fun place to play and we're looking forward to returning. Music starts at 7pm.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and be kind to yourself and one another. And, as always, keep on rockin'.
Rocked Lione’s…
Great night at Lione's! Standing room only and we rocked the place. As usual we saw a lot of familiar faces but a lot of new ones too. Everyone loved our mix of classic rock songs. It took a little while for the dancers to take the floor but when they did they did so with great enthusiasm. The response we got was awesome and we really appreciate all the kind words and support we received.
We broke "curfew" again as we didn't want to stop.
Thanks to Carlo and his crew for making sure the night went smoothly. Lione's is a great venue and we're looking forward to returning there May 31st. The weather should be good for us to play outside. We all can't wait for winter to be over with.
Next up for us is a new venue Bella Brew on March 8th. We're always excited to jam at a new venue and show more people what Breaking Curfew is all about.
In the meantime stay safe and healthy and be kind to one another. And keep on rockin'.
