The 2023 “tour” begins…
Breaking Curfew is back! We kick off 2023 at Crafty’s Taproom this Friday night Jan 13 at 355 York Rd in Warminster. We play all your favorite killer classic rock tunes from 9pm to 12 midnight. Come on out and let’s kick in the new year with some great food, excellent spirits and some awesome live entertainment! Hope to see you there! We have a great schedule set up already but we’re not done. More dates will certainly be added in the near future so keep checking back on our Schedule page.
Great finale to 2022 schedule…
What a way to cap off our 2022 schedule. As you know we played a new venue (for us) Friday night: The Local Tap in Lansdale. We're always excited to play someplace new as it gives us a chance to show some new folks what we're all about. There is a little uncertainty too with a new place: are we going to fit in our allotted space, will the acoustics be good, will people show up, will the beer be cold enough for Richie, etc. Well, The Local Tap far exceeded our (already high) expectations. There was a standing room only crowd most of the night with a good mix of good friends, loyal fans, and newbies to the band. And, as is usually the case, we had dancers, singers, clappers etc. Everyone was in party mode. The music we play is called classic for a reason- the songs have stood the test of time and almost everyone is familiar with and loves them.
Much thanks to the Local Tap crew for keeping the libations flowing all night. They offer a wide range of delicious locally brewed beers. If you love beer (and even if you don't) you should check this place out. Now we have a few weeks off to enjoy the holidays with our families. But we'll be back to work in the new year as 2023 is already shaping up to be another banner year for us.
We again want to thank you for the support you have shown us throughout the year. We couldn't do what we do without you.
James, John, Rich, and I (Bill) wish you all a healthy and happy holiday season and we'll see you next year.
In the meantime keep on rockin'.
Nearing the end of 2022…
Well, 2022 is coming to a close and we’ve had a great year. So much fun seeing so many people (old friends and new) at so many different venues. We have one more gig at the Local Tap this Friday and then we’re off for a couple weeks to enjoy the holidays with our families. But we hit the ground running in January with 3 big shows and we don’t stop after that. We’re setting up for another banner year.
We thank all of you for your support and, as we’ve said so many times, you are the reason we do what we do. We just love making music that people enjoy.
If we don’t see you Friday, have a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season.
Another new venue…
Tomorrow night we hit another new venue for us, the Downingtown VFW 4601 Lincoln Highway, Downingtown, PA. We’re always excited about playing at a new place and this one is in James’ backyard. Should be another fun night and it’s a good chance for everyone to party/dance off those Thanksgiving calories and shake out of the turkey coma many of us are experiencing. Party starts at 8pm.
Crushed it at The Dutch…
We crushed it at The Dutch. It was an awesome night with a rockin' crowd. There was a cool range in ages from 21 to...a bit older. There was even a group celebrating a 21st birthday that made their entrance on a yellow school bus- yes, a school bus. The energy was fantastic and everyone there seemed to love us and the feeling was definitely mutual. We feed off that energy and it elevates us to another level. We didn't want to stop but this was one time that we couldn't "break curfew."
As always, the staff at The Dutch was fantastic. They all kept the food and libations coming all night.
Thanks to Jenn and Ryan for inviting us to play. In the near future we'll be discussing more dates at The Dutch for 2023. We'll keep you all posted. Or you can always check out out our website for our upcoming gigs.
The next show is this coming Saturday, November 26th, at the Downingtown VFW. This is another new venue for us and we're excited to show those folks what Breaking Curfew is all about.
Hope to see you soon but in the meantime keep on rockin'.
We tore it up at The Trum…
We tore it up at The Trum. We broke out some new tunes, resurrected some we hadn't played in a while, and added in a few of our heavier tunes and it was the perfect mix. There was a great crowd, most of whom stayed until the very end- 1:15am- and even then there were multiple strong requests for "one more song" which we happily fulfilled.
Folks were singing along, drumming on their tables, playing air guitar, and of course dancing. Everyone was into the music in their own way which was so cool to see.
And Carly- what can we say about Carly except thanks for the yeoman work you did all night keeping the drinks flowing and the party going.
We'll return to The Trum next year- twice- so check our schedule page for dates.
Next Saturday, November 19, it's back to The Dutch. Hope to see you there.
In the meantime keep on rockin".
We’re back to the Trum…
This Saturday, November 12th, we return to one of our very favorite places to play, the Trum Tavern. Actually this is one of the very first places we played and we’ve been thankful for the support (thanks Steven Lewis) ever since. There’s always a good, enthusiastic crowd that pumps us up and keeps the place jumping! And there’s always something a little unusual that happens as well that adds to the fun. The party starts at 9pm.
We nailed it at Crafty’s…
It was a great night at Crafty's...we were so glad to be back. We saw A LOT of familiar faces- good friends and fans of the band (who have become our friends too.) There was a birthday celebration- Rich's friend Jen was the person of the night. She brought a bunch of friends to celebrate with her and they all had a great time. And there were a number of people who hadn't see us before who clearly we're digging what we were playing. The dance floor was busy all night.
As always we want to thank all those who came out to party with us. We truly appreciate the support. You are the reason why we do what we do - and we love what we do even more because of you.
We want to thank Crafty's (Megan) for inviting us to play. We already have two more dates scheduled for next year. We'll be updating our calendar soon with our 2023 dates on it. Check back to this website to see when and where we're playing.
Until we see you again keep on rockin'.
Back to Crafty’s…
Now that the Phillies have a travel day on Friday, we’re all set to play at Crafty’s Taproom this Friday night, Nov 4th from 9pm to 12 midnight. Come on out to 355 York Rd, Warminster, 18974. A great place to hang with your favorite adult beverages, delicious food and some good ole classic rock music to entertain. We expect a big crowd ready to party! See you there!
Great double header weekend…
Well, we completed our double header weekend and we posted two “Ws” as both gigs were great. The Phillies played the first two games of the world series so we competed with them but still drew enthusiastic crowds at both venues- The Crooked Eye and Friendship Fire House Social Club. We continue with this busy stretch this Friday at Craftys Taproom.
Double Header coming up…
Well what do you know Breaking Curfew fans...it's a double header weekend for us. (Get the baseball reference? lol) We know the Phillies will be defeating the Astros both nights but both venues will have the games on so you can listen/dance to great classic rock tunes and watch the games at the same time. It'll double your fun!! We're looking forward to seeing you all. Go Phillies!!
Crooked Eye- October 28th at 7pm
Friendship Social Club- October 29th at 7:30pm
North Penn VFW rocked…
Well, we rocked the North Penn VFW- with some help from the Phillies. It was an enthusiastic crowd who enjoyed watching the home team crush the Padres while digging our great classic rock tunes. The energy kept building as the night went on and it reached a crescendo when the last out was recorded. Then we kept the energy level up until our last note- well past “curfew” as usual.
We always like playing a new venue and giving different people a chance to see/hear what we're all about. The feedback was so positive but we could tell that from the way folks were singing and dancing all night.
Thanks to Joann for inviting us to play and for keeping the beverages flowing all night.
Next weekend we have a double header. Friday is the Crooked Eye Brewery and Saturday is the Halloween costume party at Friendship Fire House Social Club. We're psyched...
North Penn VFW coming up…
This Saturday, October 22nd, Breaking Curfew plays at a new venue for us, the North Penn VFW, which is located at 2519 Jenkintown Road in Glenside, PA. We are always psyched to play a new venue as it gives us another opportunity to show some new people what we're all about- and that's a good time with lots of classic tunes that everybody knows and loves. The party starts at 8pm. Hope to see you all there.
Great night at Tom’s..as usual…
Another fun night at Tom's! So good to return and jam our favorite classic rock tunes. Everybody there was digging the music, dancing in their seats and singing along. We appreciate the support from all who were there.
We also got to help celebrate a birthday and watch the Phillies beat the Cardinals to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
All in all a great night.
Thanks again to Anthony for inviting us to play. (We already have a couple more dates at Tom's in 2023.) And thanks to Jack and Andy for their support through out the night.
We’re back at it on October 22nd at a new venue for us, the North Penn VFW. Hope to see you all there.
In the meantime keep on rockin'.
Back to Tom’s…
We’re stoked to be returning to Tom’s this weekend, October 8th, at 8pm. As you know Tom’s is known as one of the best venues - if not the best- for live music in the area. We are proud to be a part of their live music schedule. The food, drink, and service are also fantastic. It’s always a great party night so we hope to see you all there.
A beautiful celebration…
This past Saturday we had the privilege to witness the wedding of our drummer Rich to his now wife Chris. It is awesome that these two wonderful people were able to recover from heartbreaking loss to find love again with each other. It was a beautiful ceremony and a fun and boisterous (in a good way) reception. So many family and friends were there to celebrate with them and wish them all the best as they begin this new chapter in their lives. They are truly loved and cherished by many. Way to go Chris and Rich!!!
Stellar night at Marchwood Tavern…
Well we nailed it at Marchwood Tavern- the back end of our weekend doubleheader. It was a great night, made more memorable by the birthday celebration of Jammin' James' wife, Deb (Edith) and by the commemoration of our drummer Richie Stix' last weekend as a single man. (He's marrying the band's number one fan, Chris Cope Price.) There were so many friends and family there in addition to our fans and many regulars from the Tavern and everyone- and I mean EVERYONE- had a great time. As always there were people dancing all night and the rest singing along. We even did one "band karaoke" number with one of our young fans and that was a blast. Nights like this remind us why we do what we do- it's so gratifying to see so many people having so much fun and forgetting about life for a few hours. Music will do that.
Thanks to Stephanie G. for inviting us to jam at Marchwood and kudos to her hard working staff who helped us get setup and kept the food and drinks flowing throughout the night. Couldn't have done it without all of them.
Next up is another of our favorite venues- the venerable Tom's in Royersford. We're there October 8th. Hope to see you there. In the meantime keep on rockin'.
Nailed it again at Cabana Bar…
Well our "summer music series" at Cabana Bar came to a close last night and it was a blast. Once again we enjoyed an enthusiastic crowd of singers and dancers. Everyone- including us- was into the party mode big time and it was a FUN night for all who were there. The energy kept building all night and our last set was awesome with the whole bar singing and dancing along with every song. And, as has been the case at each previous gig, we were asked to keep playing well past "curfew." Nobody wanted to stop but we had to.
We are so grateful to all our fans who came to all our gigs at Cabana Bar this summer. We saw many familiar faces but also many new ones at each gig. The Breaking Curfew crew keeps on growing.
We are also grateful to Steph Nous and Cabana Bar for giving us all those opportunities these past few months to jam our great classic rock tunes and share them with so many people. We'll look forward to doing it again there next summer.
Next up is Marchwood Tavern, tonight, September 17th, at 9pm. Hope to see some of you there. If not, keep on rockin' 'til we see you again.
Doubleheader weekend on tap…
We’re psyched to be returning to two of our favorite venues this weekend. First up, on Friday September 16th, we jam it out at Cabana Bar. This will be our fifth and final gig there for 2022. We are so grateful to have been given so many opportunities to play there this summer- every time has been a blast and we’re sure this Friday will be the same. Then, on Saturday September 17th, we return to the Marchwood Tavern in Exton where we will again rock the place like we did earlier this year. Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.
Cabana Bar was a blast…
You may recall I wrote a few weeks ago, after our last gig at the Cabana Bar, that everything was in perfect alignment and it was a great gig. Well, I don't know if you can improve on perfect but we did last night. The place was absolutely packed- outside AND inside- and everybody stayed until the very last note of our second encore (which was, of course, past "curfew.") It was awesome watching everyone having such a great time. We played some stuff we hadn't in a while, some new stuff, as well as a lot of our "bread and butter" crowd favorites and the response was phenomenal.
Thanks go out to the great Cabana Bar staff as they worked hard all night keeping up with the needs of the crowd. They always ensure a great night for all with awesome food and drink and great service.
Well next up for us is...The Cabana Bar again! Yep, we'll be back for our 5th and final gig of the summer there. September 16th. We'll try to top last night's gig.
In the meantime, keep on rockin'.
