Nailed it at The Duck…
Well our Duck debut was outstanding. This venue had been on a bucket list of places we wanted to play and it more than exceeded our expectations. Great (as in enthusiasm and size) crowd with sooo many familiar faces. As usual people were dancing and singing along to our tunes all night long. And, also as usual, we went past "curfew."
The staff at the Duck, led by Denise, could not have been more accommodating. They checked in with us frequently throughout the night to see if there was anything else we needed. Greatly appreciated.
We hope to be back of course; our schedule is pretty full the rest of the year so there was some discussion of booking dates in 2023. We'd love that.
Next up is one of our favorite places, the Cabana Bar, Saturday, August 27th from 7pm to 10pm. Hope to see you there.
Debut at The Duck Inn Taproom…
After a fun time at the private party this past Saturday we now look ahead to this Saturday night, Aug 20th, when we make our debut at the Duck Inn Taproom on Rt 29 in Collegeville. Pretty cool place right along the Perkiomen Creek. Good food, good friends, good times. We jam from 8pm to 11pm. We’ve been wanting to play there for a while and we’re grateful to have the chance. We’re going to do what we do and rock it out. Hope to see you there.
Our short break is over…gearing up for a busy end of August…
Hey Breaking Curfew fans- we've been quiet for a little while, vacationing and enjoying some R&R. But now the calendar has turned to August and we're gearing up for a busy month. We have a private party on the 13th and then we have our long-anticipated debut at the Duck Inn Taproom on the 20th. We finish the month at Cabana Bar (our 4th scheduled gig there this summer!) on the 27th. We can't wait to see you all again.
We rocked it at PFCSC…
Well we just finished up the second half of our double header weekend at the Phoenixville Fire Company Social Club and it was a great follow-up to last night's gig. Things started a little slowly- it seemed that no one wanted to be the first one on the dance floor. However, after a couple songs people couldn't hold back anymore and the floodgates opened. There were dancers the rest of the night. And even those not dancing- playing pool or darts or just hanging out- were singing along.
We were also lucky to be able to help with a few celebrations: 2 birthdays, a recent wedding, and a graduation.
The Social Club is a great place for bands - it's a big space overall and it has a large stage area. Best of all though are the members- some of the nicest people you'll meet and they appreciate well-played music. (We also greatly appreciate Amy and how hard she worked to keep the libations flowing.) And, of course, we brought along many of our own followers and they boosted the energy level.
We have a few weeks off due to vacations, etc. Our next gig is a private party on August 13th and then we make our debut at the Duck Inn Taproom on August 20th. We close out the month with another gig at the Cabana Bar on August 27th. We're psyched for all of these.
We’ll keep on rockin’ so we hope you will too.
Perfect alignment at Cabana Bar…
It was one of those gigs last night at the Cabana Bar when everything was in perfect alignment: the crowd, the music, the venue, the weather... From our first song all the way through to the last of our two (strongly requested) encores everyone there was locked into the music. It was literally standing room only and everyone was either singing along with the music or dancing to it (or both in a lot of cases.) The energy was so strong and it was flowing in both directions.
As is usually the case now we saw a lot of familiar faces but many new ones too who are now part of the Breaking Curfew crew. (We saw more lawn chairs too as that group is expanding!) Again, each of us in the band can't overstate how much we appreciate the support. Thank you all.
Tonight is the second half of our double header weekend. At 7 30pm we start rockin' the Friendship Fire Company Social Club in Phoenixville. It's guaranteed to be another awesome night as it always is there. Hope to see you. If not, keep on rockin' until we see you the next time.
Cactus Grill was hot…
Well we blew them away last night at the Cactus Grill- literally (we were a little loud) and figuratively (they loved us.) We had dancers all night long and those not on the dance floor were dancing and singing in their seats.
It's been a while since we played the Cactus Grill but we were reminded what a great place it is to play. It has that "Cheers" vibe which is created by the owner, Mary E., and all her staff. They truly do seem to know everyone's name and everyone there was so very appreciative of us and our music. We heard so much positive feedback and many people wanted to know when we're coming back. So many truly nice people.
We hope to return if we can find some open dates that jibe with Mary's for the Grill. We're going to do our best to make it happen. Of course, we'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, keep on rockin'.
We swept the weekend double-header…
You could say we swept our weekend doubleheader. We had a great gig at Tom's which followed an awesome gig at Cabana Bar. Not much new to say; both gigs were like so many others recently: an enthusiastic crowd of friends and loyal fans mixed in with some new faces. We are thankful to have such support.
We’re back at Cabana Bar on July 15th.
We return to Tom's October 8th.
Next up is our return to the Cactus Grille in Pipersville. Friday, June 24th, at 7pm. We'll rock that place too. Can't wait.
Back-to-back weekend…
OK gang, looks like a double shot weekend for the Breaking Curfew crew! We’ll be jamming that killer classic rock tomorrow night at the Cabana Bar in Skippack and then throwing a completely different set of songs your way on Saturday night at Tom’s Bar in Royersford. We got rained out at the Cabana Bar last month but the weather looks good this time around. (Fingers crossed.) Don’t forget to bring your beach chairs if you prefer hanging in the parking lot as many of you used to do. No beach chairs needed for Tom’s- just a desire to party hearty like we always do there.
Stellar gig at Washington Grille and Pub…
We wrapped up another stellar gig this time at the Washington Grille and Pub in Bechtelsville. Admittedly it wasn't the biggest crowd we've had recently, but as always it was an enthusiastic gathering of classic rock lovers. We saw some more new faces and, as always, some familiar ones, especially Rich's friends. They are such fun-loving, supportive, and loyal people. The band appreciates all the support we get at each and every gig. The positive feedback we receive is gratifying and tells us the hard work we put in every week in the garage pays off.
Thanks to Amanda and the rest of the Washington Grille staff for all their hard work. This is a great place for bands, very spacious. Our friends also gave glowing reviews of the food, service, and prices. Definitely a place to keep in mind for a great time.
There's been an addition to the band recently too. Tub's friend, Brian, graciously offered to do our sound and in less than a second we said "sure." He's taken our original sound system, added mics to the guitars and snare drum, and tweaked the knobs on our mixer to create an even fuller sound. We sound better than ever.
There are new photos and videos from the gig so check them out.
Next up is a return visit to Dominick's Saturday, June 11th, at 8pm.
Cabana Bar gig canceled…
Well the outdoor part of our schedule comes with some risks. We are at the mercy of the weather gods and we must have done something to piss them off because they’re sending us storms tonight. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We’ve been looking forward to this gig for a long time.
On the bright side we have four more gigs scheduled at Cabana Bar, the next being June 17th. We’ll just have to wait until then to rock the place.
We’re into the outdoor portion of our schedule…
We had a very successful debut at Dominick’s Pizza and Pub. It has a very cool and spacious outdoor space and we filled it with great tunes and Breaking Curfew fans. Everybody was having a great time as usual. This was the first of five (count ‘em five) gigs there and we’re definitely excited about returning there throughout the summer.
Next up this Friday May 27th is the first of five (yes, count ‘em five) gigs at Cabana Bar this summer. This is one of our favorite venues and it too has a nice outdoor space that extends into the parking lot. (This is the home of the “lawn chair” people who have become some of our most loyal followers.) We anticipate another great night of classic rock under the stars- an awesome combination.
Neither rain nor wind…
…could keep us from our gig at The Dutch. After being snowed out of our March gig at The Dutch, we were super psyched to play there last night. The weather outside was miserable but the party inside was awesome. So many people said the hell with the rain and they came out and had a great time with us. The Dutch's outdoor space is awesome and we were warm and dry all night. We broke out some new (for us) classic rock tunes and played 3 1/2 hours of the best music ever made. We had dancers and birthday partiers and lots of people having fun singing along with us.
Thanks to The Dutch crew (especially Paige and Gabe) who were so helpful all night. We heard so many positive comments about the staff and the venue overall.
We'll be back in November. But next up (May 21st) is a new venue for us that we're really excited about: Dominick's in Chalfont.
As always, you can check out our entire 2022 schedule on the schedule page (duh.)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. To everyone: keep on rockin'.
To The Dutch (and no snow this time…)
This Saturday, May 7, we return to one of our favorite venues, The Dutch. There’s no chance that weather will be a factor like it was with our gig a few months ago. The Dutch has an awesome outdoor space that is conducive to a great party which is what it’ll be Saturday. We have some new songs to debut in addition to the “bread and butter” of our song list. See you all Saturday night.
Back to back successes…
Our return to Crafty's was awesome. Great crowd - with a wide range of ages - dancing to almost every song we played. (They couldn't dance to every song- a rest every now and then was needed.)
We love to see everyone having a great time, as usual, jamming to the great rock classics we love to play. It never ceases to amaze us how songs from 40 to 50 plus years ago never seem to get old.
Thanks to Crafty's for letting us jam at their place again. We'll be back again in the fall.
The second half of our back-to-back weekend was at the Marchwood Tavern and it was another great night. Though not as many people got on the dance floor as we might like there was no doubt everyone was digging the music. "Seated dancing" we'll call it and it was in evidence all over the place as well as the usual singing along to every song. We could feel the energy.
Thanks to Steph G. for inviting us to play and supporting us throughout the night. And thanks to the Marchwood Tavern staff for keeping the party running smoothly.
We hope to return to Marchwood later in the year so keep checking our schedule page for additional dates. We have a couple weeks off and then on May 7th we're back at The Dutch.
A final note: we continue to see more and more familiar faces at our gigs and we're so appreciative of the loyalty of so many of our fans. Thank you all for your support.
Back to back weekend…
Ok folks! After tearing up the Trum Tavern this past weekend, Breaking Curfew will be jamming a back-to-back weekend at two of our relatively new venues. On Friday the 15th we’re at Crafty’s Taproom at 355 York Rd in Warminster. We play from 9pm to 12 midnight. After we nail that, we’re playing Saturday the 16th at the Marchwood Tavern at 3 Marchwood Rd in Exton. We play from 9pm to 1am so yes indeed, we have a busy, fun filled weekend to look forward to. Hope to see you out and about!
And the Trum did rock…
And we rocked it…Well, we weren't kidding when we said the Trum was going to rock this past Saturday. We had a great time as we always do at the Trum and everyone there was having fun too- it was a very enthusiastic crowd to say the least. We broke curfew again; we jammed until 1:15am and even then folks were asking for more.
Thanks to Steve Lewis for inviting us to play. Special thanks go out to Carli who was superhuman last night as bartender/waitress. She busted her butt keeping everyone there satisfied with copious food and drink.
We'll be back to the Trum in the fall. As always you can see where we’ll be on our schedule page.
Next weekend it's Crafty's and Marchwood Tavern. Hope to catch you at one or both of those gigs.
The Trum will rock again…
We can’t wait for our return to the Trum this Saturday, April 9th, at 9pm. We have had so much fun every time we’ve played at the Trum. The folks there know how to have a good time and we provide the music for them to enjoy themselves all night. We’re psyched and hope to see you there…
Great Night at the Great Barn
I'm running out of superlatives...my thesaurus is little help anymore. Our night at The Great Barn Taphouse this past Friday was phenomenal. This is a great place for bands to perform- huge real stage, great lights, etc. We love it.
And for the folks who love to listen and/or dance to live music The Great Barn is also a super venue with a huge bar (specializing in delicious craft beers) and a spacious dance floor. Speaking of the dance floor- it was packed all night and if people weren't on the floor they were singing and rocking it out in their seats.
It was also gratifying for us to see so many of our fans/friends last night. As usual Richie had a ton of his friends there. That group knows how to have FUN. We were also so thrilled to see our "Cabana Bar" friends/fans there. We knew we were going to have a great night when we saw you folks walk in. (And I promise I'll learn your names before the end of the summer.) Some of our Crafty's friends/fans were there as well. And, as always we made and met some new fans. We are so grateful and humbled by all the support we get at every gig.
Thanks to Steve and the entire crew at Great Barn for helping us throughout the night.
Next up is The Trum Tavern on April 9th. That will surely be party time.
Return to The Great Barn Taphouse
Working on the set list now for our next gig at the Great Barn Taphouse. Great to be asked back to play there. Set your calendars for Friday night March 25th. We’ll be rocking it out in Warrington off of Rt 611 at 1500 Main Street at the Shops At Valley Square from 8pm to 11pm. Great food, great spirits and great entertainment! See you there!
Keep checking our schedule page as we’ve continued adding dates to what has become a full calendar for the rest of the year. We feel so fortunate to have so many more opportunities to rock it out with all of you.
Oh Mother Nature…
Mother Nature reminded us yesterday that winter is not over and that she is still in charge at times. She brought us snow, very cold temperatures, and strong winds - enough that it was not prudent for our gig to go on as planned. The Dutch’s enclosed outdoor space would have been no match for the cold and wind and the roads would have been dangerous for driving. Obviously we were terribly disappointed as The Dutch is one of our favorite places to play. But, such is life sometimes…We return to The Dutch on May 7th so mark your calendars. It’s safe to assume the weather won’t be a factor for that gig. LOL
Next up for is The Great Barn Taphouse on March 25th. We’re looking forward to our return there.
